Kids Spring and Easter Book Round Up
Seasons are a changin’ and we are happy for some more sun, longer days and warmer temps! After living in Florida for several years Josh and I really started missing the change of seasons. It’s just a nice energy to feel the weather start to make a shift into something new.
I did a blog post about winter books we enjoy with the kids and now it’s time for the next round, spring and Easter! Generally I gravitate towards books for the kids that deal with religious themes as well as nature. And as I said in my first book post we like to seasonally rotate out some of the books we keep downstairs to have something fresh to read pertaining to the current season or holiday. The kids get excited to see old favorites and some new additions come out, helps fight some boredom.
Often times Easter books focus on the secular aspects and while we do Easter baskets and hide candy with the kids because that’s lots of fun, it can be hard to find books focused on the most important thing – Jesus’ sacrifice for us. I found a really good one last year so I’ll share that one first!
1. God Bless Our Easter
This was a special find that we got last year and now I have a few others from the same author that we read with kids. Hannah Hall is the author and does such a great job turning your attention to the religious aspect of Easter and praising God for new beginnings and the sacrifice of His Son. The illustrations are very sweet as well.
2. Little Blue Truck’s Springtime
Jacob started collecting some of these books early on and this is a fun springtime take on things as Blue drives around the countryside visiting the new farm animal babies. It’s a flap book too which is always a hit at our house.
3. Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring
They have a book for every season change now and this is our second one. It is saying goodbye to winter weather and hello to springtime changes.
4. Dr. Seuss’s Spring Things
This past month Jake read lots of Dr. Seuss books at his daycare and really had fun with them. I was excited to find a cute springtime option for him that was simple enough for the girls to like as well.
5. Spring in the Forest
A bright, cheery flap book with pop-out features behind the flaps. The fawn makes its way through the forest seeing the changes of spring with its’ mama.
6. The Story Orchestra Four Seasons in One Day
I bought The Nutcracker version of this book last Christmas and was really happy to find a fun way to start to introduce the kids to more classical music in a way that they enjoyed so well. It was nice to see they have several more books available so I thought we would go with this one next. Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is the feature of this book with a story of a girl and her dog who go through all 4 seasons in one day. Each page has button to push to play clips of the music that goes along with it. These books are high quality with good sound, the buttons have to be lined up just right with the page, which can frustrate our 2.5 year old, but our 4 year old has no issues getting it to work.
7. A Walk Through the Woods
See different animals and the trees as spring arrives. The highlight of this book, while the story is sweet enough, is the artwork. It features intricate paper cut outs whit lots of detail making it a fun piece of art to point out to the kids.
8. Around the Year
This book features the joys of each consecutive month of the year with vintage artwork. I don’t care for what they highlighted regarding fall (Halloween with mention of witches and ghosts) but the way it is set up I used contact paper to close those pages together and you still won’t miss a month when reading it – our families personal preference regarding Halloween themes.
9. A Spring Surprise
Join Peter Rabbit as he prepares for the spring picnic with all his friends, they all have to bring something unique and special with them and Peter has a hard time deciding what his special thing will be. Can’t go wrong with a Peter Rabbit themed book regardless the time of year!

Hi! I’m Emily Saladino and I am excited to be sharing ideas on lifestyle, homemaking, child rearing and spiritual growth. My husband, Josh, and I have 3 kids that we are raising in western Michigan where I am originally from. We aren’t in our forever home yet – in the process of searching and praying for the perfect piece of land or existing house that just speaks to us – out in the country with space to roam. Both of us are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and I work part time to stay home with the kids the majority of the week. I enjoy decorating, fashion, cooking and overall management of our home – striving to make it healthy, happy and slowing down the pace of life. Hopefully this page can be a place of inspiration and add value to your day
